Finding patterns..

I constantly find my self being drawn to patterns in everyday life and seeing there potential as stitch.
When I looked back through my Thailand photos it was this gate and the pattern with in its structure which caught my attention.




Transforming this pattern into stitch..

Tweaking the colours I have been painting with and taking inspiration from Blackwork embroidery and passementerie I've begun sampling.
I've used linen as my ground fabric and in a neutral colour and experimented with the length of stitches and the scale of the pattern.
