Blackholes to Spirographs.

Taking colours from images of blackholes I found on the internet I have been producing spirograph images.

Blackholes.

I recently watched a documentary on space, part of this was about blackholes and how there formed.
What attracted me was there colours and there resemblance to the spirograph. The colour and composition is formed by a sphere which spins therefore distorting what surrounds it.

More spirographing.

With these particular drawings i was experimenting with allowing myself to control different aspects of the spirograph..

Moving the spirograph around the page.

Changing colour mid line.

Lesley Halliwell

Lesley Halliwell is an artist who uses the repetition of spirograph to produce large scale, colourful artworks..

Through finding Halliwell's work it has pushed me to thinking about scale and the freedom it can give you if you aren't restricted to a small space.

Drawing with kids toys.

I figured if I can photograph with a children's toy then why not draw with one..

THE SPIROGRAPH.

Taking colours from kaleidoscope photos.

Kaleidoscope.

I have been experimenting with photographing my childhood clothes through a kaleidoscope.
I decided to use a Kaleidoscope as its a toy I used to love playing with when I was a child.
Its the merging and distortion of colour and pattern which I feel makes for an interesting photograph..

Finding my childhood clothes.

At the start of summer I was clearing out the attic and found a box of my clothes from when I was a child.
Instantly loving the bright colours and patterned fabrics this was the starting point of my project..
